Cambodia Asia Bank opened its doors to public on 23 February
1993 as full commercial bank with paid up capital of USD10,000,000.00.
It is one of pioneer private commercial banks to obtain
licence. Its First Office was located along Monivong Blvd.,
Phnom Penh City and started with a small network of counters
for currency exchange.
In 2002, in compliance with implementation of new banking
law, CAB easily met the National Bank of Cambodia's new
capital requirement of USD13,000,000.00. This further
strengthened its capital base and elicited more trust
and confidence from its growing clientele. In December
2006, The Bank was granted permanent banking license by
NBC.
Since it commenced operations, CAB has registered steady increase in deposits and resources that in its second year,
it nearly doubled its number of clients from the previous year.
That early, CAB had foreseen the need to upgrade its facilities and to keep up with developments in local and international banking.
Some of these innovations were the extended banking hours and re-location of its head office to more spacious and conspicuous area at business district of Phnom Penh.
Coping
With Changes
Through those years, CAB was able to respond to new challenges and has continued to keep pace with innovative products and services and reinforced its reputation as one of the strong and stable banks in Cambodia. Fourteen years of continuous growth, attests to the hard work behind CAB's philosophy of providing better banking service to its clients.
Recognizing the need to address Cambodia's growing tourism industry, CAB expanded its services by establishing more exchange counters throughout the country. Currently, it prides itself to be one of the country's leading dispensers of Western Union remittance service.
Vision & Direction
Today,
despite the highly competitive banking environment, Cambodia
Asia Bank has steadily become bigger not only in terms
of activities and manpower but more in term of being able
to serve the diverse segments of Cambodian people and
contribute to country's development. Notwithstanding its
conservative profile, it aims to compete actively in retail
and consumer banking. And because CAB has remained strong,
committed and stable, it is prepared to meet the demands
of the country's growing consumer market for high quality
banking service.
